RF2350 multiband mobile transceiver with increased resistance against radio-electronic warfare is intended for installation in all tracked and wheeled vehicles and bases.

Basic characteristics of the transceiver

Compatibility
It is fully compatible with all RF20 system transceivers in simplex and semi-duplex frequency hopping channel. Depending on the selected frequency band you can communicate with RF13 radio system transceivers and with other transceivers conforming to STANAG 4204.
Two types of modems
The transceiver provides data communication in fixed-frequency channels according to MIL-STD-188-220 (NET modem). In frequency hopping channels you may use two modem types to transfer data - P2P and NET.
Navigation receiver
The RF2350 transceiver features a navigation receiver that allows you to display navigation data on the display, as well as GPS data transmission via a frequency hopping radio channel using G-track service.
Connecting audio accessories
For connecting standardized audio accessories, the transceiver uses one U-229/U audio connector (according to MIL-DTL-55116). The connector can be used to connect audio equipment such as SONETRONICS, CJ COMPONENT PRODUCTS, POWER TIME, etc.
Co-site filter
The transceiver is manufactured with or without a co-site filter. The co-site filter allows for simultaneous operation of multiple transceivers in a single vehicle in the operation band of 30 MHz to 90 MHz.

Fixed frequency operation (FF) in HF and VHF bands

Fixed frequency operation (FF) in HF and VHF bands
  • 25 MHz to 146 MHz according to STANAG 4204
    • 30 MHz to 108 MHz enhanced tactical band
    • 118 MHz to 140 MHz air band
  • frequency and amplitude modulation (FM, AM)
  • FLASH short coded messages, channel scanning

Special modes of operation - HW20 waveform

Special modes of operation - HW20 waveform
  • frequency hopping (FH) operation
  • resistant to jamming, monitoring (TRANSEC)
  • secured against intercept or modification (COMSEC)
  • SMS, selective communication, authorization, warning messages, BREAK-IN
  • monitoring and communication at selected fixed frequencies - hailing frequencies

Data transfers

Data transfers
  • in MANET networks according to MIL-STD-188-220 (FF, FH operation modes)
    • automatic rebroadcasting to a depth of up to 6 hops
    • connection to DTE (PC/PDA) via SLIP or PPP
    • diagnostics and configuration via IP interface
  • Broadcast (P2P) with user adjustable baud rate (FH)
  • voice and data in one channel with voice priority
  • compatibility with a C2/C4 systems

GPS signal reception

GPS signal reception
  • built-in L1-SPS GPS receiver
  • SMA connector for external active or passive GPS antenna
  • displayed location, time and speed on LCD with updates from GPS
  • G-track - automatic collection of position-location information (PLI) in secure VHF channel to display transceiver position on maps with easy integration into C2/C4 systems via an IP interface

Why co-siting

Why co-siting

Operating multiple transceivers at a single site increases demands on their resistance to mutual interference. With an integrated co-site filter, the signal transmitted in the band of 30 MHz to 90 MHz contains lower noise level, while in the opposite direction, the filter prevents overloading the receiver with signals from the neighboring transceiver.

Compatible operating conditions:

  • distance between recommended types of vehicle antennas at least 1.5 m
  • difference between receiving and transmitting frequency at least 10 %
  • co-site filter used with all transceivers

Ruggedized design

Ruggedized design

The transceiver must be capable of deployment in extreme operating conditions. Uptime and reliability in harsh climatic and mechanical conditions is tested according to international standard MIL-STD-810. The device is subjected to a series of tests that examine its behavior under extreme temperatures and its resistance to vibration and shock, key features for a mobile transceiver.

Small dimensions, hassle free installation

Small dimensions, hassle free installation

The transceiver boasts of advanced design and small footprint (202 mm x 210 mm x 186 mm) which allow for quick and easy installation even in limited space. To withstand harsh operating conditions the RF2350 is attached to the shockmount which helps to absorb some of the vibration and shock energy. For installation and removal of the transceiver just tight or loose two bolts by hand. No other special tools are required.
